Annapolis Drug Sweep Nets 7

The Annapolis Police Department‘s Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a two month city-wide drug operation that led to the arrest of seven people with more to follow. The operation targeted individuals who were illegally selling narcotics throughout Annapolis. Detectives posed as drug users and purchased narcotics directly from those arrested multiple times.

Working with the Anne Arundel State’s Attorney’s Office detectives obtained sealed criminal indictments for the seven suspects.

“The detectives did an outstanding job during this investigation which culminated in the arrest of seven people,” Chief Michael Pristoop stated. “Violence is often associated with the illegal drug trade and as a result of this investigation we reduced the possibility that these guys will be involved as either a victim or a suspect.”

On February 9th officers arrested Kevin Andrew Hopkins, 24, of Glen Burnie, Ryzon Donya McGowan, 20, of Annapolis, Rondell Carl Johnson, 24, of Annapolis, Donte Anthony Beans, 20, of Glen Burnie,  Dante Antwione Freeland, 23, of Curtis Bay, and Vashon Lamont Henson, 37, of Annapolis.
