Information Night For Student Board Of Education Slot

High school juniors in good academic standing can get more information on becoming the 2012-2013 student member on the Board of Education of Anne Arundel County during an Information Night scheduled for Wednesday, January 25, 2012.

Anne Arundel County’s student member on the Board of Education is the only one in the nation on a local board who has full voting rights. The nomination process for the 2012-2013 seat opens on February 1, 2012, and ends at 5:00 p.m. on February 15, 2012. A candidate will be elected by the Chesapeake Regional Association of Student Councils on March 12, 2012.

That candidate’s name will be forwarded to Governor Martin O’Malley, who must make the appointment.

The January 25 meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the Parham Building, located at 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis.
