One of the founders of the popular Anne Arundel County Breaking News And Events facebook page was killed in a head on collision early this morning in Pasadena.

We spoke with co-founder John Williams this morning who told us the accident occurred just after midnight. Brian D. McDevitt, 32, was traveling on Ft. Smallwood Road in front of Compass Pointe Golf Course when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a BMW head on and continued traveling into the woods. The two occupants of the BMW were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The police department has not released any further details of the incident at this time.

McDevitt was a custodian at Severna Park High School for more than ten years.

Anne Arundel County Breaking News & Events was a facebook page established about a year ago to inform residents of police and fire activity in the County. Due to their popularity, just last week, they launched a new website by the same name.

You will be missed by all. Such a young man, to be gone so soon.

Brian, I love you brother. I still read the text I got from people saying you’re gone, it still doesn’t seem real and it took more than just a message to realize its reality. I love you man.

Any further updates on the circumstances behind the cause of the accident?

Would like update as well, funny how they didnt have any problem coming back with the tox reports for 4 killed on rte 50. Have heard nothing about this accident.

I have a call into the police. To clarify, the initial report for the quadruple fatality stated they did not know if alchohol or drugs were involved. The single fatality did indicate they suspected. The quad tox report was preliminary and indicated that there were drugs and/or alhohol involved, but did not specify to what degree.

Yet another story that falls off the radar with no follow up information. You guys(news organizations) get us all into a story and then it’s gone leaving us wondering what the details were. Same thing with the story on the County Officer that was arrested……just forgot about.

We have made weekly telephone calls to the police on both of these incidents to specifically follow up. We have been told that the investigations are incomplete; but we will be following up and if needed will submit a FOIA request to get the documentation.
