Taste of the Bay Acquired By Chesapeake Family
“We are excited to add Taste of the Bay to our award-winning family of publications,” said Donna Jefferson, publisher. “This regional magazine is a desired resource among Marylanders on both sides of the Bay. The acquisition enables us to extend our leading role serving area parents, to serve all residents and facets of life on the Bay, plus offer our advertisers additional channels to reach consumers.”
Says Taste of the Bay publisher and founder, Joe D’Urso, “This acquisition means that Taste of the Bay advertisers and readers will continue to receive the same great service, attention to detail, and results that they demand. They will continue to receive all of these great benefits from Taste of the Bay and its staff, with added support and development from the great team at Jefferson Communications. I will continue to be fully involved with Taste of the Bay through the transition period with Jefferson Communications, as well as staying on after.”
Taste of the Bay is the only magazine that celebrates living in the Chesapeake Bay area of Maryland in all its unique and vibrant forms. It captures the behind-the-scenes spark of what it’s really like to live here – from lush farms to boat building, from talented artists to tight-knit communities, from local chefs to adventurous travel, from food and drink to getting dirty and having fun.
Jefferson Communications will begin publishing Taste of the Bay under the new name, Chesapeake Taste, starting with the April issue. Nadja Maril, Jefferson Communications’ new editorial content manager, will be joined by Karen Gaspers and Betsy Stein, to helm the print and online editorial and content creation for both Chesapeake Family and Chesapeake Taste.
