UPDATE: Odenton Boy Charged With Sexual Assault At Arundel High

According to police, a 14 year-old Odenton teenager has been charged in the sexual assault which occurred at Arundel High on November 28, 2011.

From the Anne Arundel County Police Department:

On December 5, 2011, after consultation with the State’s Attorney’s Office, detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division responded to the suspect’s residence in Odenton and charged the 14-year-old male suspect with Attempted Second Degree Rape, Second Degree Sex Assault and Second Degree Sex Offense. The suspect was served on a juvenile citation and released to the custody of a relative.

Arundel High principal Sharon Stratton sent home a letter updating and stated that the accused teen had not been in school since the incident. She did not say if his absence was a sanction by the school or voluntary. We have a call into the Anne Arundel County Public Schools Administration to see if there have been any disciplinary measures taken against the student such as relocation, suspension, or expulsion. As soon as we receive a response we will update this posting.

According to the Student Handbook, Sexual Assault is an offense that is punishable by a level 4, 5, or 6 consequence.
