Rash Of Assaults In Brooklyn Park

Two assaults in Brooklyn Park have Anne Arundel County Police on alert. Two assaults yesterday, being termed strong-arm robberies reveal a similar MO.  From the Anne Arundel County Police Department:

First Incident

On December 27, 2011 at approximately 11:53 p.m., officers from the Northern District responded to the area of Camrose Avenue in Brooklyn Park for a report of a male that was pepper sprayed earlier.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 25-year-old male victim from Pasadena on Hammonds Lane near Upland Street. The victim reported that he was waiting at the bus stop on Ritchie Highway near Hammonds Lane about 30 minutes earlier when three male suspects approached him and asked if he had drugs. The victim indicated that he did not and the suspects assaulted him. One suspect “pepper sprayed” the victim while other suspects removed his shirt, pants (containing his cell phone and money) and shoes before fleeing across Ritchie Highway towards Walton Avenue. Fire Department personnel responded to treat the victim at the scene. Several officers canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.

 Second Incident

On December 27, 2011, at approximately 1:10 p.m., officers from Northern District responded to the 5200 block of Kramme Avenue in Brooklyn Park for a report of a citizen robbery.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 43-year-old male victim from Brooklyn Park, who indicated that he was walking in the 100 block of Church Street near Johnson Street on Christmas Eve around 11:45 a.m. when he was approached by two suspects, who demanded the victim’s property. The victim was subsequently punched and knocked to the ground by the suspects. The suspects then took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency and prescription medications from the victim before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction. The victim sustained minor injuries, but refused medical treatment.

Suspect #1: White male, approximately 6’0”, 180-200 pounds with a muscular build, wearing a black ski mask and dark clothing

Suspect #2: White male, approximately 5’7”, 160 pounds with a thin build, wearing a black ski mask
