Code Red December 8th

An All-Call Test of the CodeRED alert system will take place on Thursday, December 8 at 10:00 a.m.  It will be conducted by the City of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Office of Emergency Management to test dissemination of important information.

If you registered, you will receive a call.  The CodeRED system offers individuals an automated telephone message or text message service providing brief information on emergency situations and important instructions.

For Annapolis residents, CodeRED will be used solely at the direction of the City & County for emergency and general information.

The high-speed telephone calling system is capable of making several thousand calls per minute to traditional landline phones, cell phones and voice over internet protocol (VoIP) phones. CodeRED delivers messages to both answered phone lines and answering devices. This system allows the City or County to target smaller geographic areas as well, alerting the public to specific localized emergencies such as a contained water-main break or police action.
