Seven students from area dance studios will be performing alongside the professional ballet dancers of Ballet Theatre of Maryland (BTM) in the company’s upcoming productions of The Nutcracker.

Earlier this year, BTM held open auditions for children’s roles in its production of the holiday classic, The Nutcracker.  BTM’s Nutcracker utilizes the talents of over 50 dance students as supporting cast members to the company’s professional ballet dancers.  In addition to students of Ballet Theatre of Maryland’s School of Classical and Contemporary Dance, seven dance students from five dance studios – Adagio Dance Studio, Flair Dance Studio, Carter School of Dance, Soli Deo Gloria, and Academy Ballet School – will be performing.

Audiences can see Ballet Theatre of Maryland’s Nutcracker on December 10, 11, 17, and 18 at Maryland Hall.  Performances are Saturday evenings at 7pm and Sunday afternoons at 1pm and 4:30pm.  Sunday ticket holders can enjoy a free Sugar Plum party one hour prior to showtime.

Tickets can be purchased by calling Maryland Hall’s box office at 410.280.5640.  Detailed information on the performances can be found at www.balletmaryland.org or by calling 410.224.5644.
