Young Woman’s Body Found In Dumpster.  The Baltimore City Police Department’s Homicide Unit has been called in to investigate the discovery of a young woman’s body in a Dumpster. Baltimore City police said the body of a woman believed to be about 20 years old was found at about 8:10 a.m. Sunday in a Dumpster behind an apartment building in the 200 block of North Charles Street.Police said there were no obvious signs of trauma to the body.

Redistricting Plans To Be Heard In Special Session. State lawmakers will meet in Annapolis on Monday for a special session of the General Assembly, and the big item on the agenda will be redistricting.The redistricting maps are being redrawn to reflect population shifts and changes based on the 2010 census and will determine the state’s representation in Washington for the next decade.

First Time Marathon Runner Wins Baltimore Race. It came down to the wire, but first-time marathon runner Stephen Muange from Kenya broke free from a pack to win the 2011 Baltimore Marathon on Saturday.Muange, 30, broke away from two other elite runners with only a few hundred yards to go to cross the finish line first with a time of 2 hours, 15 minutes and 16 seconds. Muange told 11 News that the Baltimore Marathon was his first, but that he’s run lots of 21K races.

Occupy Baltimore Demonstrators Find New Allies. Occupy Wall Street demonstrations — spreading nationwide — have taken root in Baltimore with growing support amongst allies. On Saturday, members of moveon.org joined demonstrators who have camped out at Pratt and Light streets in downtown Baltimore for nearly two weeks. The demonstrators said Saturday they are taking part in a rally as part of national week of action for social justice and equality.
