Baysox To Collect Warm Clothing

The Bowie Baysox have announced that Prince George’s Stadium will serve as a collection point for warm clothes donations in conjunction with Louie’s Holiday of Hope. Starting Tuesday, Nov. 1, the team invites fans to bring gently used winter coats and other warm clothing to the Baysox front office to donate to local families in need.

Baysox Marketing Director Brandan Kaiser helped come up with the idea for the coat drive. “Over the years, Louie’s Holiday of  Hope has helped dozens of local families in need and our fans have been a huge help through their donations,” Kaiser said. “We think that collecting warm clothes to provide to families in need throughout the community will help us to reach our goal of helping 25 families this year.”

Louie’s Holiday of Hope began in 2007 and touched 20 families with 60 children last year.  This year, the team hopes to help 25 families and to include warm clothes in the aid packages they provide. If fans would like to donate warm clothes to the program, they can drop them off at Prince George’s Stadium during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
