On Sunday, November 13th from 4-7 PM at the Marriott Annapolis Waterfront Hotel, the Friends of the Light House will be hosting their largest annual fundraiser, the Bountiful Harvest Gala.
For the past 20 years, the Bountiful Harvest fundraiser to benefit the Light House has grown into a popular and highly successful Annapolis social event. During that time, the members of the Chesapeake Chefs Association have partnered with the Light House Shelter and provided their time, creativity and specialty foods, creating a unique and delicious cuisine that delights the palates of guests.
New for this year is an online auction (www.biddingforgood.com/friendslhs) that allows everyone, even those who cannot make it to the gala, to participate in the event. The online auction will run from October 1st to November 15th.
“We are so excited that for the first time, anyone with an internet connection will be able to participate in the auction,” said event co-chairperson Wendy McIntyre. “With generous donations in the auction that range from alluring vacation packages to a hybrid bicycle to gorgeous jewelry, there really is something for everyone.”
All proceeds benefit the Light House, a homeless prevention and support center, which opened a new facility in October 2010. The new facility has several times the capacity of the previous one and offers many more services for the safety and well-being of local residents who have no place of their own to reside.
Tickets are $90 each if purchased by November 6, $100 thereafter and may be purchased online at www.FriendsLHS.org.
