Spalding Coach Accused Of ‘Sexting’ Relationship With Teen. Police in Anne Arundel County have accused a former high school track coach of exchanging sexually explicit texts — also known as sexting — with a student at the school where he used to work.Brian Funk, 40, of Pasadena, was charged with child pornography and displaying an obscene item to a minor. He turned himself in to police on Sunday.Department of Social Services officials began investigating Funk in July after receiving a complaint of possible sexual child abuse. Officials said Funk had gone to a movie with a minor female student, and they thought a possible relationship existed between the two.

Passengers At BWI Delayed Due To Airplane Search. Officials at Baltimore-Washington International Airport said passengers on a Southwest Airlines flight were delayed while authorities searched for an object “that raised the concerns of the airline.” BWI spokesman Jonathan Dean said the flight was delayed for about an hour Monday evening, but no object was found by federal and state law enforcement.Dean said passengers on Southwest flight 2365 from Florida were told to get off the plane after landing at 7:11 p.m. Passengers wrote on Twitter that they were told to leave the cabin and leave their purses and personal items behind.

2 Hurt In College Chemistry Class Accident. A University of Maryland public safety official said two people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries after a chemistry accident. Capt. Marc Limansky, public safety spokesman, said the chemistry building was evacuated after the incident Monday afternoon.Prince George’s County fire department spokeswoman Mark Brady said on his Twitter account that two college-aged women were being treated for first-degree burns and superficial lacerations.

Man Charged In ‘Stranger Danger’ Incident. A 49-year-old man was arrested over the weekend in connection with a “stranger danger” incident that police said occurred in Aberdeen.Brian Hamilton Childress was arrested Saturday and faces kidnapping charges, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.Authorities said earlier this month that a mother saw her 5-year-old son walking off with an older, unidentified man toward a cornfield near the Carsins Run Sports Field at 500 Carsins Run Road.
