Boy, 14, Accused Of Shining Laser At Police Helicopter.  Maryland State Police said a 14-year-old boy shined a green laser at a helicopter crew Tuesday night, and the boy now faces numerous charges.Police didn’t identify the teen but said he was charged with reckless endangerment, attempted second-degree assault on police and obstruction. A state police helicopter was flying in the area of Eastern Boulevard and Kingston Road about 11 p.m. when the incident occurred.”We saw a flash of light come through the cockpit over my left shoulder,” Trooper Joshua Heins told 11 News reporter Kim Dacey. “Initially, we thought it was lightning, and as we turned the aircraft some, we noticed that there was a green beam coming directly from a house.”

3 Injured, 9 Families Displaced In Overnight Columbia Apartment Fire. Howard County fire officials said three people were injured and nine families were displaced in an early-morning apartment fire Thursday.The two-alarm fire broke out at about 1 a.m. in the Autumn Crest Apartments in the 5600 block of Stevens Forest Road in Columbia, according to fire officials, who said firefighters rescued several people from the building.Fire officials said three people were taken to Howard County General Hospital, and one man is in serious condition.

MD Revenue Forecast $195M Higher Than Expected. Comptroller Peter Franchot said Maryland is on track to bring in $195 million more in general fund revenues this year than expected.Franchot credited an unexpected increase in individual income tax collections for the boost on Wednesday, noting that the increase was in the first half of the fiscal year.But Franchot said the Board of Revenue Estimates, which he leads, is lowering sales tax and corporate income tax estimates to assume much slower growth than previously expected in 2012 and 2013.

3 Killed In Baltimore House Fire. Baltimore City fire officials said three people died in a three-alarm fire early Thursday morning.The blaze broke out in a house in the middle of a pack of rowhomes at about 1:30 a.m. in the 600 block of South Pulaski Street in southwest Baltimore.Fire Department spokesman Kevin Cartwright said the fire engulfed several two-story brick rowhouses, damaging 11 on that block.
