Bowie State Student Killed; Roommate Arrested. Maryland State Police said a Bowie State University student was stabbed to death Thursday night, and her roommate is in custody.Police said Dominique Frazier, 18, of Washington, D.C., was stabbed to death at about 8 p.m. in her second-floor suite in the Christa McAuliffe Residential Community building in the 14000 block of Jericho Park Road on the university’s campus.Officers found the victim in the hallway, bleeding from the upper torso and unconscious. Frazier was taken to Prince George’s Hospital Center, where she was pronounced dead.

MTA Scales Back Proposed Toll Hike For Bay Bridge. The Maryland Transportation Authority board has agreed to scale back a proposed toll hike increase on the Bay Bridge after public outcry. The board agreed Thursday on a plan to raise the toll to $4 in November and $6 in 2013. It originally proposed increasing the toll to $5 on Oct. 1 and $8 in 2013. The decision came as the board agreed on revisions to a package of toll increases that were proposed in June. Area residents turned out in droves at public hearings this summer to protest the proposed hikes.

3 Sought In ‘Brooklyn To The Bay’ Drug Ring. Federal authorities have charged a dozen men and are searching for three more in connection with a Baltimore drug organization.A federal grand jury indicted the 15 men on numerous drug charges that stemmed from an investigation called “Brooklyn to the Bay,” which was led by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents and involved about 300 police officers who executed 29 federal and state search warrants. Additionally, 28 others will state face indictments on various drug charges.

Man In Surveillance Video Sought In UMD Attack. University of Maryland police said they hope surveillance video will help them catch the man wanted on accusations that he sexually assaulted a student.The 19-year-old victim was attacked while she was sleeping in her third-floor on-campus apartment in the Leonardtown Apartment Complex around 3:30 a.m. Aug. 9.Police said the victim woke up to find a man inside her bedroom, lying next to her in bed and fondling her.”He was stroking her arm, her side, other body parts. … It was a very disturbing type of incident,” said UMd. Police Capt. Marc Laminsky.
