Korean Ensemble At Maryland Hall

The contemporary Korean ensemble, SOREA, playing traditional music with a modern beat will be in concert at 7 p.m. Sept. 30 at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, 801 Chase St., Annapolis.  SOREA is on an honorary ambassador tour representing the Korean Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs

SOREA represents the sound of Korea and has gained international recognition and acclaim as a very talented and creative band of musicians in their performance of newly arranged rhythms and melodies based on traditional Korean music. Organized in 2005, the classically trained musicians combine this traditional music with modern styles. Recently, SOREA’s title theme was chosen for a documentary by PBS television.

These concerts are sponsored by the World Artists Experiences in partnership with the Korean American Cultural Foundation with the Embassy of Korea.

These concerts are free and are open to the public on a first come first serve basis.  The World Artists Experiences is an organization bridging international understanding through cultural and citizen diplomacy.
