Movie Premiere Tonight! The War Of 1812

The War of 1812a new PBS documentary that airs nationwide, October 10 – will be shown at Landmark Theatres’ Harbor East Cinema in Baltimore, Monday September 26 at 7 p.m.  The screening of the film (a highlighted version) benefits Star-Spangled 200, Inc., the nonprofit fundraising affiliate of the Maryland War of 1812 Bicentennial Commission.  Proceeds will support grants, programs and events tied to the upcoming bicentennial observance.

Governor O’Malley and Mayor Rawlings-Blake are expected to give welcoming remarks.  Filmmaker Lawrence Hott of Florentine Films will be on hand for a Q&A session following the film.

WHAT:    Baltimore film premiere of “The War of 1812,” a film event featuring remarks from Governor O’Malley and Mayor Rawlings-Blake.  Filmmaker Lawrence Hott of Florentine Films will be on hand for a special Q&A session with the audience.

Star-Spangled previews will be shown including, “Anthem,” a made-in-Maryland documentary that traces the origins of the National Anthem and other film productions from Maryland Public Television.

The Fort McHenry Fife and Drum Corp will be on hand, as well as living history re-enactors from the War of 1812.
