Watershed Stewards Needed

Potential volunteers can get information about the Watershed Stewards Academy from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at the Pascal Senior Activity Center, 125 Dorsey Road, Glen Burnie.

The Watershed Stewards Academy trains and supports community leaders to serve as Master Watershed Stewards in the protection, restoration, and conservation of watersheds, working to reduce the negative impacts of storm water runoff in Anne Arundel County. It is an initiative of Arlington Echo Outdoor Education Center and the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works to empower communities to restore local waterways.

The next training class will start this fall, with Sept. 12 as the deadline for applications. Visit www.aawsa.org for information or obtain information at the senior center on Aug. 25.

The Pascal Senior Activity Center is one of the seven senior centers operated by the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities. For information, see www.aacounty.org/aging or www.facebook.com/ArundelSeniors.
