The Annapolis Music Scene Coming To Life

| August 18, 2011 | 0 Comments

The Annapolis music scene will be rocking and rolling next weekend at the first ever Silopanna Music Festival. This one day festival will be held at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds and will feature three stages and more than 20 bands.

Two weeks ago highlighted some of the national talent that will be at the festival next week including Matt and Kim, Trombone Shorty, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Fitz & The Tantrums and Harper Blynn. These are all must-see acts for sure; but in addition, Silopanna is all about the local music that we have all come to appreciate.  You have seen them in local bars and coffee houses. Many have played the Eastport A Rockin festival and some have opened for larger acts at the Merriweather Posts Pavilion, the 930 Club and the 8X10 in Baltimore.

This area is blessed with a wealth of musical talent and the Silopanna Music Festival will be showcasing them all on Saturday, August 27, 2011.

But for those who may not be familiar with the local music scene, Eye On Annapolis will be highlighting 15 local bands beginning on Friday and continuing through the weekend (you have been warned). We dug up videos and have links to the bands’ sites for more information. So check back often and listen to our local talent and we will see you at Silopanna.
