Driver Dies From Injuries In Odenton Crash. Anne Arundel County police said a driver involved in a weekend crash in Odenton has died from his injuries.Brendan James Truffer, 25, of Catonsville, died at Shock Trauma, police said Tuesday.The crash occurred shortly after 4:30 a.m. Saturday on Patuxent Road, north of Conway Road.Police said Truffer lost control of his 2003 Toyota Solara and hit a tree.Members of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department went to the scene to extricate Truffer from the vehicle and take him to Shock Trauma.Authorities are still investigating the factors leading to the crash.

Restrictions Still Remain On Blue Crab Population. Harvest restrictions will stay in place when it comes to the blue crab population.A new assessment of the population said more conservation measures may need to be into place. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said the female population in the bay is at about 200 million, which is considered as progress.To ensure that their are plenty of crabs in the bay, there have been restrictions on the number of bushels of female crabs that waterman can catch. There has also been winter and summer closure periods on catching female crabs.

Virginia Wildfire Sending Smoke To Ocean City. A brush fire burning at the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildfire Refuge is sending smoke all the way to Ocean City.WBAL Production Manager David Butta, in Ocean City, said he could see and smell the smoke. Officials said more than 1,000 acres have been scorched since the fire was reported last Thursday. It is believed that the fires were sparked by lightning.Firefighters are using bulldozers and two helicopters to fight the wildfires. By 5:50 p.m., Butta said the wind shifted and that the smoke was gone.

Missing Woman’s Boyfriend Weighs In On Disappearance. The boyfriend of a Maryland woman who disappeared a week ago while vacationing in Aruba said he’s concerned something has happened to her.Robyn Gardner, 35, was last seen in Aruba on Aug. 2.Gary Giordano, a man she was traveling with, told police the two had gone snorkeling off the western tip of the island before she disappeared. Giordano is being investigated on suspicion of involvement in Gardner’s disappearance. Police arrested him Friday as he was attempting to leave the island.Even though Gardner was in Aruba with Giordano, her boyfriend, Richard Forester, said the two have been dating for about eight months
