UPDATE 05;48pm 08/18/2011: Reports of a working basement fire at the Anne Arundel County Fire Department Headquarters on Veterans Highway. Details VERY sketchy at this point. Dore department advising the fire has been knocked down but communications are on red alert .
The Anne Arundel County Fire Department is being kept busy during this afternoon’s storms. Crews are currently working on two working structure fires in Hanover and in Gambrills.
Hanover
First arriving engines to 3200 Birdwell Court in Hanover reported smoke coming from several apartments. Further details are not available.
Gambrills
A single family house at 1104 Red Harvest Road was struck by lightning this afternoon and arriving crews were reporting fire showing from the attic. Further details are not available.
