Arnold Senior Center August Activities

The Arnold Senior Activity Center has announced a list of events for the month of August. Call 410-222-1922 for information. 

  • Ryan Helfenbein, a columnist for Outlook by the Bay magazine, will present “Ask the Undertaker – Considering Cremation?” at 10 a.m. Aug. 10 at the Arnold Senior Activity Center, 44 Church Road, Arnold. The rise in popularity of cremation may raise a multitude of questions for the average consumer. Choices not only encompass services but merchandise as well. This educational presentation will provide insight into options available today. Light refreshments will be served. For information, call the center at 410-222-1922.
  • Take a walk down memory lane during the interactive program entitled “Golden Age Trivia” from 1 to 2 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Arnold Senior Activity Center, 44 Church Road, Arnold. Games are broken up into three rounds of five multiple choice questions. Topics will range from classic movies, music and television, to sports, history and general knowledge. Jason D’Engenis will host this event which supports mental awareness and cognition as well as a spirit of competition. Call 410-222-1922 for information.
  • Sign up by Aug. 18 for the van trip to California Pizza Kitchen from 11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 25 organized by the Arnold Senior Activity Center, 44 Church Road, Arnold. Van seats are limited and you are responsible for the cost of your lunch and tip. Call 410-222-1922 for information.
  • Reservations are $15 and are due by Aug. 24 for the Country Hoedown picnic at Kurtz’s Beach in Pasadena from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 31 hosted by both the Arnold and Annapolis Senior Activity Centers. Participants can enjoy the view of the water from the patio or cool off in the air-conditioned indoors. Wear your dancing boots and country hoedown-themed attire and enjoy music by Larry and Phyllis Laser. The menu includes coffee cake, beef barbecue, chicken legs, hot dogs, potato salad, macaroni salad, watermelon, rolls, sheet cake and assorted beverages. Call 410-222-1922 for information.
