The Anne Arundel County Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 as the area continues to recover from the destruction left by Hurricane Irene.  Currently, many schools are without power. The school district will reassess the situation on Tuesday and make the appropriate decisions and announcements about any further closures.

Because of ongoing widespread power outages and transportation issues, all Anne Arundel County schools will be closed again tomorrow, August 30. A Code Blue will be in effect for employees. Twelve-month employees who are unable to get to their work location because of travel, child care, or other hardships should discuss their specific situation with their supervisor. We continue to experience issues related to updating the AACPS website, so further information will continue to be passed through local media outlets and additional phone messages
