UPDATE 03:08pm 07/02/2011: From ABC2 News:

One person is dead and another in life-threatening condition after a 2-alarm house fire in Edgewater Saturday afternoon.

According to Anne Arundel County Fire Department Division Chief Cox, firefighters arrived at the one-story single family home in the 1300 block of Shore Road just after 1:30 p.m. and saw heavy smoke.

Firefighters found two victims inside, one of them was dead.

The other victim, a woman in her sixties or seventies was taken to Bayview Burn Center in life-threatening condition.

About sixty firefighters were needed to put the fire out.

The cause is still under investigation.

Fire crews are on the scene of a fatal fire in Woodland Beach section of Edgewater. Just before 2:00pm after 1:30pm crews were dispatched to 1322 Shore Drive for a reported structure fire with entrapment.

Crews arrived on the scene and began rescue operations. One victim was discovered dead and another was being transported by Maryland State Police helicopter.
