Discolored Water Reported In Annapolis.  Crews are looking into reports of discolored water at homes and businesses in the downtown area.Department of Public Works Director David Jarrell said Tuesday afternoon the water is safe to drink.”The discoloration was caused by a large amount of water going through a 16-inch water main that is being used to refill the Jefferson Place water tank,” Jarrell said. “The process is causing there to be slightly higher-than-normal iron levels in the water.”Jarrell said the water can stain clothing, so residents should refrain from washing white loads until Wednesday.

Stolen Property Recovered In Anne Arundel. Police have recovered thousands of dollars worth of stolen property, and detectives are trying to find the people who owned the items that were taken.Last month, officers got a tip that someone in Lothian was dealing drugs and accepting stolen property in exchange for them, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.Last week, detectives executed a search and seizure warrant on Mt. Zion Marlboro Road.

Maryland Set To release MSA Scores. New Maryland School Assessment scores will be released Wednesday.For almost a decade, Maryland has used the MSA to help raise the academic bar for students, although last week the tests made headlines with revelations of cheating at two Baltimore City schools.Baltimore City Schools CEO Dr. Andres Alonso seemed to suggest that the latest results would be among the most scrutinized in the nation, something Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake was counting on, according to Education reporter Tim Tooten.

100 Year-Old Volunteer Still Reports For Duty. The International Dyslexia Association in Towson has many dedicated volunteers who are a big part of its mission of advocacy and education.One of those volunteers is about to turn 101 years old.Lillian Davis, or “Lil” as she’s known to her friends, is one of the association’s most dedicated volunteers. Davis has been stuffing envelopes once a month at the location on York Road for more than 20 years.”It gets me out of the house, and I’m amongst nice people,” Davis told 11 News reporter Kim Dacey. “The ones that are coming in, I’ve known for years.”
