Newly Opened 2hands studios Offers Kids Craft Workshop For Father’s Day Gifts

Father’s Day is right around the corner; sending sons, daughters and moms across the Annapolis area to search for just the right sentiment to show Dad their love. What better way than with a handmade gift from the heart? 2hands studios is offering a Father’s Day (and don’t forget the teachers) Kids Craft Workshop on Sat., June 4th. Parents and kids – of all ages – are invited to drop in anytime between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to make personalized gifts including bookmarks, money clips and business card cases.
The workshop is designed to appeal to kids and adults, as well as all levels of craftiness. The owners of 2hands studios will help each participant choose an image that best befits Dad and instruct them on how to inlay it to a nickel or brass bezel, and then top with a doming glaze for added dimension. This 30-minute craft not only looks professional, it’s highly functional and will be treasured by Dad for years to come.
The crafts range in price from $10 to $15, which covers instruction and supplies (including a nifty gift bag). Ten percent of the proceeds will be donated to Anne Arundel County CASA, whose mission is to support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children so they can thrive in safe, permanent homes. More information can be found at www.aacasa.org.
2hands studios was recently opened near the Annapolis Mall by three local designers, Carleen Birnes, Ally Tierney and Jill Davolio, as a production studio to create handmade bridal accessories and wedding favors. In addition to their wedding collection, they offer a regular schedule of jewelry and sewing classes for adults, along with kids’ craft workshops.  Their class schedule and wedding collection can be found at www.2handsstudios.com.
