Edgewater Bank Robbery

Yesterday, we tweeted about a bank robbery at the M&T Bank in Edgewater.

Here is a statement form the Anne Arundel County Police:

On June 2, 2011, at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers from the Southern District responded to the M&T Bank located in the 3100 block of Solomons Island Road in Edgewater for an armed robbery that just occurred.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with employees, who stated that a male suspect entered the bank, approached the tellers and demanded money while implying that he had a weapon. The tellers complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency to the suspect, who fled the bank on foot in a southerly direction. Several officers canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

Suspect: White male in his 30’s, approximately 5’7”, over 200 pounds, wearing a white hat, a white t-shirt with a design on the front and pantyhose on his face
