Crash Jams Up Traffic On Route 50 Near Arnold.  U.S. Route 50 was jammed in both directions Tuesday morning in the Arnold area due to a crash in the westbound lanes of the road.The crash happened near Bay Dale Drive shortly after 7 a.m.11 News traffic reporter Sarah Caldwell said several westbound lanes were closed to clean up the crash. She said lanes were also closed in the eastbound section of the road.The crash caused heavy delays in both directions.By 8:30 a.m., all of the lanes on both sides were reopened. Delays were still being reported on the westbound side stretching back to the Bay Bridge.

Ex PG County Executive To Plead Guilty. Former Prince George’s County Executive Jack Johnson, accused by federal prosecutors of accepting campaign contributions and other gifts in exchange for helping developers secure millions of dollars in federal grant money, intends to plead guilty to at least one of the charges, bringing a swift end to a case that embarrassed the wealthy Washington suburb.

Arundel Contractor Facing Felony Charges, 30 Years In Prison. Dozens of Maryland homeowners said a contractor cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars.Monday, that contractor was in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court, accused of running two felony theft schemes.Greg Haigis came to the attention of the 11 News I-Team in 2008, when homeowners said he and former contractor Scott Huff were paid thousands of dollars for home renovations that were never completed by their companies Arundel Home Connections and Bay Area Design and Build. The Maryland Home Improvement Commission revoked both contractors’ licenses, according to 11 I-Team reporter Barry Simms, who has been following the case.

Superfresh Warns Of 1,500 Maryland Layoffs. State officials said Superfresh is warning of hundreds of layoffs if the grocer cannot sell nearly all of its stores in Maryland and they have to close.Superfresh wants to sell 22 of its 24 stores in Maryland. Two stores in Ocean City are not for sale.The closings could start as soon as July 6 and, if buyers can’t be found, nearly 1,500 employees could be laid off.Sixteen of the affected stores are in the Baltimore area.Superfresh’s parent company is the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., based in New Jersey.
