Pasadena Barricade Situation Ends Peacefully

From the Anne Arundel County Police Department:

On May 13, 2011, at approximately 4:16pm, officers from the Eastern District were called to 7689 Oak Lane, Pasadena, Maryland, for a report of an overdose.  Upon arrival, officers made contact with family members who stated that Steven Wayne Stanley was inside the residence. They further stated that he was in an agitated state, and claimed to have taken an overdose of medication earlier in the day.

Stanley had locked himself in the basement and also had access to numerous firearms. Officers approached the house and attempted to speak with the suspect.  After a brief conversation, the suspect discharged a firearm within the residence.

Officers then established a perimeter and called for the Special Operations Section (SWAT officers) and Conflict Negotiation Team. Shortly after their arrival, the suspect exited the basement and was taken into custody without further incident.  The suspect was taken to BWMC for a medical evaluation.

On May 14, 2011, Stanley was charged at Eastern District with 1st degree assault, 2nd degree assault and reckless endangerment. Weapons were recovered from the residence.
