Bayside Bride Busts Onto The Scene

In the last few years, blogs have become one of the most popular resources for brides looking for wedding inspiration and wedding vendors. There are a variety of wedding blogs that exist for larger cities like Baltimore and Washington, DC, but until now, there has not been a comprehensive wedding guide for Annapolis and Eastern Shore brides.

On May 2nd, local photographers Natalie Franke and Krista A. Jones launched Bayside Bride. With a focus on supporting local business and providing brides with the resources they need – Bayside Bride hopes to highlight all of the reasons why Annapolis is the most romantic city on the East Coast!

“Bayside Bride is the comprehensive wedding planning resource for couples getting married in the Annapolis area! With a top-‐notch vendor guide, DIY ideas and inspiration from real weddings and engagements there is a little something for everyone. Our mission is to provide Annapolis brides with the resources to plan their dream wedding, while also promoting the best wedding vendors and small businesses in Annapolis,” says co-‐founder Natalie Franke.

Both Natalie and Krista bring a wide range of expertise to Bayside Bride. Natalie Franke is an award winning wedding photographer in the Annapolis Area and a rising senior at the University of Pennsylvania. With a father and grandfather who both attended the United States Naval Academy – Natalie’s love for Annapolis wedding tradition started with her grandmother’s wedding album and the arch of swords that will forever inspire her!

A Severna Park High School grad, Krista fell in love with weddings during a college internship with a Philadelphia invitation studio. She says running the blog allows her to combine her love of weddings, photography and design. Planning her own Annapolis wedding in 2010 made her realize the need in Annapolis for a comprehensive wedding source.

Bayside Bride differs from other wedding blogs because their focus is on small business owners and local wedding vendors rather than larger national chains. Their goal is to promote the growth of small businesses and to educate brides about valuing the quality of local craftsmanship. Bayside Bride also highlights the unique local style of Annapolis as a sailing capital of the world, by utilizing a nautical theme throughout the website – including a collection of sailing flags that drape across the bottom of blog!

“The design culture in Annapolis is incredibly unique and it’s one of the things that makes this town so special! My goal in designing the site was to incorporate the nautical preppy mix that is Annapolis,” says Krista.

“Our area is home to some of the most talented event professionals on the East Coast and this blog will be key in educating local brides on local wedding talent,” says Sarah Campbell, of Intrigue Floral Design. “The Annapolis area has been in need of a platform to showcase local vendors.”

“Bayside Bride is a local resource for all things weddings. The owners Natalie and Krista are fresh, young talents that are breathing life and enthusiasm into everything they touch. Working with these young ladies has been an inspiration to myself and my staff. Bayside brides will be on everyone’s bookmark menu soon,” says Laura Wright of Liu Liu Salon and Spa.
