A Baltimore foundation aimed to help youngsters fighting cancer helped to treat a teen to a very special night in Crofton on Thursday.Ninth-grader Courtney Quinn, 15, had never even been to a lacrosse game before, but Thursday she was the guest of honor at a special Dematha vs. Bishop O’Connel game in Crofton.Courtney is battling a rare form of brain cancer. She was diagnosed with a tumor a year ago and has undergone surgeries, radiation and chemotherapy.The We Believe foundation organized Thursday’s special event for Quinn and her family.

A Maryland lawmaker said he is talking to attorneys about filing a lawsuit against a measure allowing in-state tuition for illegal immigrants.Delegate Patrick McDonough, R-Baltimore County, said Thursday he is consulting with two national legal foundations to take action against the bill that was approved by the General Assembly on Monday.
Experts: Stink Bugs Becoming Multi Million Dollar Problem. Stink bugs cause more than just a smelly nuisance — the pests have become a multimillion-dollar agricultural problem.The invasive species is threatening crops, which could potentially drive up food prices at an already difficult economic time. Doug Inkley, a senior wildlife biologist with the National Wildlife Federation, has been counting the brown marmorated stink bugs at his home as he vacuums them up.”I vacuum when I get up in the morning. I vacuum several times a day when I’m home and vacuum before I go to bed,” Inkley said.
Brooks Robinson Released From Hospital. Baltimore Orioles legend and Major League Baseball Hall of Fame member Brooks Robinson was discharged Thursday from the Greater Baltimore Medical Center.Robinson had developed a fever and infection before a scheduled outpatient surgery at the beginning of the month. He had undergone abdominal surgery in January 2010 and was treated for prostate cancer in 2009.
