Educators Roll Out New Way To Battle School Bullying.  A group of educators has launched a new approach to battle bullying in Baltimore City schools.The organization, Mariposa Child Success Programs, rolled out its online tool Tuesday, with the hopes that will lead to early intervention in bullying cases.Anne Townsend, president of the Mariposa Child Success Programs, said kids now are being targeted in a number of ways, including text messaging and online, which is why their team is going online to launch its latest weapon against bullying.”The ability to interact, problem solve — it’s about resilience. One of the biggest challenges that children face is bullying today,” Townsend said.

Credit Card Theft Suspects Sought In Annapolis.  Police in Annapolis are asking for the public’s help to identify two women wanted in connection with credit card thefts.

O’Malley Signs 160 Bills Into Law.  Maryland state lawmakers passed a flurry of bills by the midnight deadline Monday, 160 of which the governor signed into law Tuesday morning.Flanked by the House Speaker Michael Busch and Senate President Mike Miller, Gov. Martin O’Malley signed legislation that included expanding health care coverage and imposing ethics restrictions on elected officials.The state leaders said they deemed the 2011 legislative session a success, though the Democratic governor chided news organizations, referring to what he said was an untold story in the last two weeks.

Maryland Historical Society Plans Civil War Events.  The Maryland Historical Society will be holding several events on the Civil War.On Friday, the society will hold several sessions, including the opening of its largest Civil War exhibit to date.Other events include: Civil War symposium, the Pratt Street riots, Baltimore at the Crossroads: Civil War stories, Divided Voices, Maryland In The Civil War, Lincoln and his Admirals, and The election of 1860.
