Northeast High School Spring Festival

On Saturday, May 7th, 2011 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Northeast High School will be the site of the Northeast Athletic Boosters Spring Festival.

This festival, which used to be an annual event from a bygone era, has been recreated as a means to unite the athletic, academic, extracurricular and business community.  All funds raised will be used to support the Northeast athletic teams and/or extracurricular activities.

Attendees will enjoy a carnival atmosphere complete with many games and prizes hosted by the Northeast sports teams and clubs.  Along with the games, there will also be roaming “buskers” mixing in with the crowd and performing face painting, balloon twisting, juggling and magic.

There will also be two stages featuring musical performances and live entertainment throughout the day.  On the main stage from 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. bands from the Priddy Music Studio will perform.  Following that from 2:00-5:00 P.M. there will be a “battle of the bands” where bands consisting primarily of local high school students will compete for prize money.  The festival will conclude with a local professional band performing a “concert” from 5:00-6:00 P.M. The secondary stage will feature entertainment between the bands performances including solo artists, magicians, clowns, jugglers, etc.

Local craft vendors and artisans will be located around stadium as well as food and concessions provided by local businesses and the Northeast Athletic Boosters.

Northeast alumni are invited to this year’s festival, in particular, for one last look at the stadium before it’s demolished to make way for a new stadium and athletic facilities, which are part of the school’s multi-year renovation plan.

Admission to the festival will be $5.00 for adults; $2.00 for children (under 12) and children under 5 admitted for free.
