AAMC Opens New Tower–You’re Invited

Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) is officially opening its long-awaited new seven-story patient tower on its Medical Park campus in Annapolis this April.  To celebrate the opening, AAMC is inviting the entire community to come explore the new facility this Saturday and participate in fun kids’ activities and take behind-the-scenes tours of:

  • The new emergency department
  • The new, dedicated pediatric emergency department
  • The new operating suites with the latest in microscopic camera and equipment
  • The new patient care rooms which overlook AAMC’s new green roof areas
  • Take a tour of a giant inflatable colon

Local government agencies, non-profit groups and vendors will be on-hand to teach visitors about ways to live healthier and more environmentally-friendly.  Groups include:

  • AAMC Green Marketplace
  • AA County Office of Public Works
  • AA County “Master Gardeners”
  • Arlington Echo Outdoor Education
  • Chesapeake Bay Foundation
  • MD Department of Agriculture Resource Conservation
  • Smithsonian Environmental Research

There will also be plenty of activities to entertain the kids, including a visit from Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer! Plus, there’s more:

arts, crafts and animals with Chesapeake Children’s Museum

US Green Building Institute’s Youth Environmental Coalition

This all happens on Saturday, April 9 anytime between 11am-2pm at the Anne Arundel Medical Center at 2001 Medical Parkway in Annapolis. Free parking in Garage A!
