Spa Creek Bridge Restrictions Next Week

| March 16, 2011 | 0 Comments

Starting next week, the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) will direct motorists using a flagging operation along MD 181 (Compromise Street) Bridge over Spa Creek.  The temporary closures will allow crews to perform preventative maintenance on the southbound approach to the drawbridge.  Pedestrians will be unable to use the sidewalk on the southbound side of the bridge during this work.

Work is scheduled Monday through Thursday nights; however crews will only need two nights of favorable weather.  Variable message signs will be used to alert motorists, cyclists and pedestrians of the work dates.

SHA will close a lane on the bridge beginning at 6:30 p.m., and two-way traffic will be directed using flaggers.  Weather permitting, work will be complete by 5 a.m. the next morning.

Customers with questions about this project may call the SHA District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or toll-free at 1-800-331-5603.  For updated lane closure information on State routes, follow SHA on Twitter @MDSHA.
