Man Arrested After Woman, 61, Beaten In Apparent Robbery In Glen Burnie. Anne Arundel County police said a man was arrested after a 61-year-old Baltimore woman was beaten at Marley Station Mall in an apparent robbery.The woman was found Wednesday evening outside a department store. Police said her car and purse were missing.She was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where she was in critical but stable condition.”It’s very disturbing. This was a vicious, unprovoked attack on a defenseless citizen,” said Justin Mulcahy of the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

Police Recover Girls Reported Missing. Twenty-four hours after their reported disappearance, two girls who disappeared in Baltimore County were in the care of police late Sunday evening, WBAL-TV 11 News reporter Sheldon Dutes reported.A Baltimore County police detective told 11 News that the girls were found in the area of Rolling Road late Sunday evening. Tierra Taylor, 13, and Azaria Griffin, 12, were reported missing at about 5 p.m. Saturday.While family waited outside the Woodlawn police precinct at 11 p.m. Sunday, police were questioning the girls about the circumstances surrounding their disappearance.

Out Of State Wineries Continue To Push For Direct Shipment. Heads of local wineries and wine retailers continue to lobby the General Assembly for approval to ship their products directly to customers in Maryland.A pair of General Assembly committees were told Friday how the law would help expand business.However, other wine and alcohol vendors in the state, who operate under strict liquor laws, said out-of-state competition would cut into their earnings.A version of the bill is expected to be approved this year.

MD Democratic Party Elects Peter O’Malley Chairman. The Democratic State Central Committee of Maryland elected Peter O’Malley, brother of Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, as Chair of the Maryland Democratic Party Saturday.Peter O’Malley has been a relied-upon fixture in the governor’s political campaigns for years. He has served as a senior adviser in the successful gubernatorial and mayoral campaigns of Gov. O’Malley. Peter O’Malley was also chief of staff to former Baltimore County Executive Jim Smith.
