The Bowie Baysox have announced a partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure® on a special Pack the Park for Pink event on opening night, Thursday, April 14, at Prince George’s Stadium.  The event raises money for the global breast cancer organization through a special ticket offer.

For every ticket sold for the game through www.baysox.com from Tuesday, March 1, through Friday, March 25, using the special offer code “PINK” the Baysox will donate 50 percent of the ticket’s purchase price to Komen for the Cure.  The offer is valid for lower reserved and upper reserved seat tickets, but does not include tickets ordered over the phone or in person at the Baysox box office.

Baysox General Manager Brian Shallcross is pleased to announce the partnership.  “Susan G. Komen for the Cure is a great organization,” Shallcross said.  “Opening night is always a big event for us, and we are extremely excited to use the night to help them raise funds for an important cause.”

“At Komen, we want to engage people in the breast cancer cause in ways that are comfortable for them,” said Katrina McGhee, EVP and chief marketing officer, Komen for the Cure. “On their opening night, the Baysox are doing just that by allowing their fans to contribute to an important cause—ending breast cancer—simply by purchasing their tickets online. Partnerships like this help us raise vital funds to continue our work to end breast cancer.”

Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s promise is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures. For more information, please visit www.komen.org or call 1-877 GO KOMEN.
