Solo Sailors To Visit Annapolis To Discuss Upcoming Film

Solo sailors Teresa Carey and Ben Eriksen will soon set sail north on an adventure.

They aim to glimpse an uncharted iceberg and make a documentary film along the way. Their film One Simple Question will illustrate the undeniable bond between simplicity and happiness. In today’s economy, with “simply living” as a new buzzword, Ben and Teresa take it to the extreme. Shedding both land and most of their possessions, they enjoy a life without a flush toilet, shower, television, and with only minimal electronics onboard.  Cramped in tight quarters, the pair will endure sleepless nights, icy northern water, and rough weather. With the polar icecaps melting and both the Northwest and Northeast Passages now open to shipping, there is concern about the future population of icebergs.

On March 12th at 1PM, Captains Ben and Teresa will visit “The Sailing Capital of the World” to kick start their filming, and to host a discussion on simple living, cruising, and their upcoming film at Eastport’s liveaboard-favorite, Leeward Market, located at 601 Second Street, Annapolis, MD, 21403.

About Ben and Teresa:

Ben and Teresa are US Coast Guard licensed captains and have been professional sailors for years as educators, delivery crew, and charter boat captains. Combined, they have logged over several thousand days at sea.

For the past two years, they’ve traveled the eastern seaboard and Bahamas aboard separate, small boats, yet managed to stay in sight of each other. This is a unique way for cruising couples to travel, which Teresa chronicled on her well-received blog titled Sailing, Simplicity, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
