Carl Snowden was found guilty of driving while impaired. The Sun’s Andrea Siegel reports that the punishment remains the same–3 years probation and a $250 fine.
Snowden expects to appeal the ruling.
This case took several turns. Snowden was stopped and charged for driving while impaired. An out of area prosecutor prosecuted the case and the judge handed down a Probation Before Judgment verdict which would allow Snowden to erase the conviction once his sentence was complete. However, Eric Hartley of The Capital discovered that the sentence was indeed illegal based on the new laws. Snowden had already received two other PBJ judgments in the past eight years.
Circuit Court Judge Ronald Silkworth decided to reverse his decision and gave Snowden the chance to receive a sentence or to request a new trial with a new Judge. Snowden attempted to appeal that decision; but Sikworth ordered him back to court.
