Man Falls From Car In Lothian, Police Seek Help

UPDATE 05:41 pm 02/09/2011: The Anne Arundel County police are confirming what we reported earlier this morning only they have indicated that they believe this may be a homicide:

On February 8, 2011, Mr. Tretick died as a result of the injuries sustained during this incident. Homicide Detectives and Crash Investigators continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mr. Tretick’s death.

UPDATE 08:12 am 02/09/2011: From a source close to the investigation, the victim has died.

On February 7, 2011, at approximately 6:04 p.m., officers from the Southern District responded to the 200 block of Mt. Zion Marlboro Road in Lothian for a report of a sick/injured subject.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with a witness, who indicated that he was driving south on Mt. Zion Marlboro Road when he observed the rear passenger door of the vehicle in front of him open and a victim fall out onto the road. The vehicle continued on without stopping. The victim, David Joseph Tretick, 23, of the 6700 block of Berkshire drive in Temple Hills, Maryland, was transported via helicopter to Shock Trauma in critical condition. The incident is currently under investigation. Preliminary information indicates that the vehicle that left the scene is possibly an older model, red/maroon, foreign sedan, possibly a Nissan Sentra with a box-style shape and rectangular taillights with chrome in between them.
