From a police report:

John Fox Alder

On January 14, 2011 at approximately 1831 hours, an officer patrolling in the 7900 block of Telegraph Road, Severn, Maryland, noticed a white van idling in the front yard of a residence.  The officer intended to check the driver’s condition, but as he approached, the driver suddenly accelerated and drove through a grass field.   The vehicle struck a flag pole in the field and then struck a building, the Korean Church of Love, 1330 Donald Avenue, Severn.  The building sustained minor damage as a result of the collision.

The driver was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma for non-life threatening injuries.  Officers seized Phencyclidine (PCP) from the driver and noted evidence of alcoholic beverages in the vehicle.  There were no other occupants in the vehicle and the church was not occupied at the time of the collision.  No other persons were injured in this incident.

The driver was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs; reckless driving; negligent driving; possession of a controlled dangerous substance (PCP); and several other traffic offenses.

Suspect:  John Fox Alder, 44 year-old-male, 8033 Clark Station Road, Severn, Maryland 21144
