Anne Arundel County Police Arrest Three Armed Robbery Suspects. Anne Arundel County police have arrested three armed robbery suspects who officers said stole money from a man Friday and then fled. While police searched the immediate area with K-9 dogs, an officer conducting a traffic stop on Masons Beach Road discovered evidence that they said implicated three of four men in a SUV. Brandon Lee Powell, 19, was charged with armed robbery, robbery and theft. Nathaniel John Aikin, 17, was charged as an adult with armed robbery, theft and accessory after the fact. An unidentified boy, 15, was also charged.

Employee Who Opened Fiery Package: ‘I’m No Hero’. The state employee who opened a package addressed to Gov. Martin O’Malley that ignited in his hands three weeks ago shared his story exclusively with WBAL-TV 11 News.Hank Kinnamon works in the mail room of the Jeffrey Building across from the State House in Annapolis. He and his co-workers are the first line of defense when it comes to screening packages and other mail sent to the Maryland governor’s office.Kinnamon, a father of three, said despite the potential for danger, he applied for the duty.On Jan. 6 during the lunch hour, Kinnamon picked up what he saw as an innocent-looking package addressed to the governor that was about the size of a thin paperback book. He said he treated it as an envelope as he peeled it open.

Woman Shot In Apparent Glen Burnie Robbery Dies. A woman shot during an apparent robbery Friday night in Anne Arundel County has died.Police said officers were called shortly before 11 p.m. Friday to a commercial parking lot in the 7300 block of Ritchie Highway, where they found Myra Elizabeth Cason in a car suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper body.Paramedics pronounced the 62-year-old Glen Burnie woman dead at the scene.Police did not have a motive and no arrests were made. Athletes To Plungers: Thank You. Thousands of Marylanders braved a moment of icy Chesapeake Bay waters Friday and Saturday to provide for a lifetime of memories for Special Olympics athletes.The 15th Annual Polar Bear Plunge raises money for the Special Olympics of Maryland, in which thousands of people are took part in the big plunges Saturday afternoon.About 12,000 plungers took part, about about $3 million was raised in this year’s event, according to the Plunge website.
