Officers Arrest Man After Police Cars Rammed. A Harwood man faces attempted murder charges after police said he rammed several patrol cars and injured three officers.William Richard Leapley Jr., 27, was also charged with attempted manslaughter by motor vehicle, assault and reckless endangerment, police said Thursday.Investigators said Leapley assaulted a family member Tuesday night on Solomons Island Road, then returned to the scene Wednesday morning. When officers arrived, police said Leapley left the residence, entered his truck and hit four patrol cars and one citizen vehicle.

Teens Missing From Southern Maryland. A pair of Maryland high school students have been missing for more than a week, and police are asking for the public’s help in finding them.Montgomery County police said Nicholas “Cole” Balderson, 17, of Brookeville and Rachel Reilly, 16, of Olney were last seen together on Jan. 12. Both are students at Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring.Investigators said they have no evidence of foul play, but the longer the teens are missing, the more police said they are concerned for their welfare.

Expert: Baltimore Economy Better Than Rest Of Maryland. Economic recovery is improving faster in the Baltimore area than anywhere else in the state, according to a leading expert who briefed legislators in Annapolis on Thursday.Baltimore and its surrounding counties are leading the state in terms of economic recovery, a rebound that has been under way since June 2009.”Those of us who work and live in the Baltimore area are very lucky to be there. It’s been one of the strongest regions in the country,” said analyst Anirban Basu, the chairman and CEO of the Sage Police Group.He briefed the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee on the status of Maryland’s economic revival.

Bodies Of Two Men Found In Nottingham Condo.  Baltimore County police are investigating what happened to two men who were found dead inside a Nottingham condominium.The victims were discovered at about 1 p.m. Thursday in the unit block of Jumpers Circle in the Red Fox Farm section of Nottingham.Detectives said a relative of one of the men called police after a month had passed since he’d heard from him. Police went to the condo and found the two middle-aged men face-down.Investigators said they initially thought the deaths may have been caused by carbon monoxide, but a check of the home later determined that the levels were normal.Police deemed the deaths suspicious, saying the bodies had been there for a while.
