Ravens Spirit Ends In Tie

County Executive John R. Leopold  issued a spirit challenge to County and State employees to see who can best decorate their respective mascots in support of the Baltimore Ravens, who will play their first playoff game on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

This afternoon, during lunch, employees from the Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks and their neighbors across Harry S. Truman Parkway, the Maryland Department of Agriculture, will take their respective positions.  Each agency will have one hour to decorate the statues that stand in front of their buildings. Recreation and Parks staff decorated a statue in front of their offices that depicts children playing sports.  Staff from the Department of Agriculture decorated the cow statues they have in front of their offices.

“We want to give the enthusiastic fans a chance to show their support for the Baltimore Ravens,” County Executive Leopold said.

The Winners?

A tie!  The judges, including Jim Wallace of MDA, County Executive Leopold and Melanie, called the contest a tie. Both teams feel robbed and we all know this will not happen on Sunday!
