UPDATE 02/01/2011: Anne Arundel County Police have identified the driver of the vehicle who struck and killed the pedestrian as Maximilian Hopkins Bode, 21, of 1539 Baywood Road, Pasadena, Maryland. Charges are pending on a review from the State’s Attorney’s Office.
UPDATE 01/28/2011: We are hearing reports that the driver of the red Ford F-350 has been identified by Anne Arundel County Police.

FATAL PEDESTRIAN COLLISION — PASADENA
Type of Collision: Single Vehicle-Pedestrian Fatal
Location of Incident: Mountain Road (Maryland 177) east of Edwin Raynor Boulevard
(In front of Brumwell’s Flea Market)
Date & Time: January 27, 2011 at 2:36 a.m.
Suspect Motor Vehicle: Red Ford F350 pickup truck with a snow plow on the front
Driver: Unknown
Pedestrian: Richard Francis Oles, 77, of 170 Circle Road in Pasadena, Maryland
Injuries: Fatal, pronounced dead at 3:30 a.m. at Baltimore Washington Medical Center
Synopsis:
On January 27, 2011, at approximately 2:36 a.m., the above mentioned pedestrian was walking along the eastbound side of Mountain Road in the area of Brumwell’s Flea Market when he was struck by a vehicle described as possibly a red Ford F350 pickup truck with a snow plow on the front. The Ford had been traveling eastbound on Mountain Road. According to witnesses, the vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on Mountain Road.
At the time of the collision, the pedestrian was walking in the roadway because the plowed snow prevented him from walking on the sidewalk or alone the shoulder. The suspect vehicle did not remain at the scene. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
