Information Night For Board Of Educations Student Seat

High school juniors in good academic standing can get more information on becoming the 2011-2012 student member on the Board of Education of Anne Arundel County during an Information Night scheduled for January 19, 2011.

Anne Arundel County’s student member on the Board of Education is the only one in the nation on a local board who has full voting rights. The nomination process for the 2011-2012 seat opens on February 2, 2011, and ends at 5:00 p.m. on March 3, 2011.

A candidate will be elected by the Chesapeake Regional Association of Student Councils on March 24, 2011.

That candidate’s name will be forwarded to Governor Martin O’Malley, who must make the appointment.

The January 19 meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Parham Building, located at 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis.
