From the Anne Arundel County Police Department

On January 15, 2011 at approximately 2301 hours, officers responded to the area of Marcey Creek Road and Russett Green, Laurel in response to a robbery of two citizens.  Two adult victims, 18 and 20 years old, stated they were having mechanical trouble with their vehicle and stopped in the area of Marcey Creek Road at Russett Green West to look at the engine.  After they stopped, four suspects reportedly ran at them from nearby bushes, and two of the suspects were wearing masks.  One masked suspect displayed a knife and demanded the victims’ property. The victims complied, but one of the victims indicated he was punched during the robbery and knocked to the ground.  The victim also believed one of the masked suspects deployed some type of electronic control device, similar to a “Taser”, and stunned him in the back before fleeing with undisclosed property.

Officers canvassed the immediate area and located two persons matching the suspects’ descriptions.

The victims identified these two persons as involved in the robbery and both suspects were placed under arrest.  The two arrested suspects are juveniles but are being charged as adults. The charges include Armed Robbery, First Degree Assault and Second Degree Assault.

The investigation remains active to identify the remaining two suspects and locate witnesses.  Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Western District Station at 410.222.6155 or Police Communications at 410.222.8610.  No further information is being released at this time.
