Accident WB Route 50 At I-97

UPDATE 6:22 pm 1/4/11: The 40 year old woman in the accident passed away this afternoon at shock-trauma.

UPDATE 9:16 am 1/4/11: The accident was a single car rollover accident and two passengers were ejected. One is in critical condition and the other is in serious condition.

A serious accident is in the process of being cleared on Westbound Route 50 at I-97. According to CHART, all lanes of Westbound Route 50 are currently closed. The accident occurred just before 9:00pm

From radio dispatch reports, it is a single vehicle accident with at least two Category A patients. Anne Arundel County Fire Department has requested two Maryland State Police helicopters to airlift the patients to shock-trauma.

Expect delays.
