The Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County is hosting the 2011 Mentoring Awards on January 26, 2011, from 6 – 8 pm at the Roger “Pip” Moyer Recreation Center at Truxton Park on Hilltop Lane in Annapolis.

Keynote Speaker, Abraham Shanklin, Jr. is the founder of New Life Fellowship International Ministries and of Solid Rock Community Development Corp.  An active teacher, preacher and leader, Shanklin will share his down-to earth and realistic approach to reaching youth and developing their potential.

Help us honor those who nurture the talent of our young people. Learn how you can reach out and help build their character and confidence, expand their universe and navigate a path to success.

As National Mentoring Month comes to a close, join the Volunteer Center at this free celebration of the outstanding work done by mentors for young people in our community.

The evening will culminate with awards honoring mentoring programs, outstanding mentors and special recognition for a “Lifetime Mentor”, Roger “Pip” Moyer.

Although the event is free, donations to support these awards will be gratefully accepted.  Please RSVP to Fay Mauro at the Volunteer Center, 410-897-9207 or [email protected]

Space is limited. Please RSVP  by Monday, January 24, 2011, by contacting Fay Mauro at 410-897-9207 or [email protected].
