Nominations Open For Teacher Of The Year

As the calendar year begins to wind down, another season is just getting started. Nominations are now available online for the 2011 Anne Arundel County Public Schools Teacher of the Year and 2011 Business Partnership Awards.

Nominees and winners will be honored at the 2011 Excellence in Education awards, set for March 29 at the BWI Marriott hotel in Linthicum Last year, 53 public school teachers, one private school teacher, and seven businesses were nominated for awards.

The 2011 AACPS Teacher of the Year will represent the county in the Maryland State Teacher of the Year competition.

The Excellence in Education Awards are presented annually in partnership by Anne Arundel County Public Schools and the Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce. In addition to outstanding teachers, the awards honor local businesses that have forged critical partnerships that directly benefit AACPS’ nearly 75,500 students.

Nomination forms are available on the AACPS website by going to http://www.aacps.org/development/emp.asp. Forms can also be obtained from the Chamber of Commerce’s website at www.aaaccc.org.
