UPDATE. The Edgewater Patch is on the scene with some good photos. We have also learned from a reader who emailed us that the roads are open but to expect delays in the area.

A three alarm fire broke out at the iconic Old Stein Inn in Mayo this morning just before 6:00am.  Fire crews arriving on the scene reported heavy smoke and immediately called for a second and third alarm.

Mayo Road/Central Avenue was blocked to traffic due to fire hoses across the roadway.  Photos from an Eye On Annapolis reader will be forthcoming.
